Pastor John C. Brown is a native of the Amarillo, Texas Panhandle community and has been for over 55 years.
Pastor Brown attended the Amarillo Independent School District and graduated from Palo Duro High School in
1982. He furthered his education at Amarillo College where he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Auto, Life,
and Health Insurance after high school. Pastor Brown currently is a licensed Insurance Agent with the State of
Texas and is self-employed (Brown Insurance) since 1995. At the tender age of 19, Pastor Brown met his  
mentor the late Bishop Horace Stacey II and during this encounter and under Bishop Stacey’s tutelage, Pastor
Brown received his formal training and call to ministry. Upon recognizing, nurturing the anointing and call upon
his life, Bishop Stacey appointed Pastor Brown to various offices and positions within the church which
included: Trustee (1984) and Youth Bible Class Teacher (1984). In 1985, Pastor Brown was ordained as an
Elder and after this tenure became the Assistant Pastor for the Temple of Praise Community Church.
In 2007 following the passing of Bishop Stacey, then Asst. Pastor Brown (which he served for 22 years), was
elevated to the office of Senior Pastor of the Temple of Praise Community Church. On July 19, 2014 Pastor
Brown was ordained as a Bishop, and oversees different ministries within the church and continues to serve in
this capacity until present. In addition to various duties of leadership through the years, Bishop Brown is
involved in a variety of ministerial endeavors that have prepared him to embrace lost souls and to minister to
the whole-being of man regardless of challenges or limitations. He engages himself with hospital visits to pray
for the sick and afflicted throughout the Amarillo Panhandle area while demonstrating un-waivering faith and
devoting his life and service to the ministry. As a sower sows seed in the natural, Bishop Brown also sows
seed unto God through ministry by praying for those that need healing of the mind, body, soul and spirit by
teaching Bible study classes for Singles and Couples while devoting time to study God’s word. The work of
the Lord has always been first and foremost in Pastor’s heart as he continues to strive for excellence as
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men”.
Bishop Brown is supported in ministry by his four children Kristie (Thomas), Marquito, Christopher and
Deziree’ along with six grandchildren (Kiara, Bayleigh, Kadaisha, Kamarrie, Genesis and Kaleb).
Bishop Brown’s ultimate desire is to see the people of God fully embrace God’s love and walk in victory
